Walk the High Line
After brunch hop on the High Line! Running from West 34th Street, between 10th and 12th Avenues, to Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District, the High Line is a 1.45 mile-long elevated park built on an abandoned New York Central Railroad spur called the West Side Line. Walking along the High Line there is so much to do and see. Along the way you’ll find beautiful horticulture, unique sculptures, serene views, and delicious food vendors.
Some features of the park include the 23rd Street Lawn that stretches for an entire block north of West 22nd Street, featuring seating steps to take in the stunning city views. The Chelsea Thicket features a pathway winding gently through a miniature forest of lush dogwoods, hollies, roses, and other dense trees and shrubberies. Every step along the way you’ll find a piece of history and something new you’ve never seen before. The High Line is open daily and free to visit! Estimated time: There is so much to explore on the High Line, this could take anywhere from 1 to 1 ½ hours!
The Standard Biergarten
After walking the High Line, grab a cold beer and a snack at The Standard Biergarten. This year-round beer garden under the High Line offers Bavarian brews, German snacks, and Ping-Pong all in an outdoor setting. Sit back, relax, grab a drink, and chat with your family and friends about what your favorite part of the day is so far. Estimated time: Take your time and relax before heading to your next destination. This activity could take anywhere from 1 hour to 1 ½.

Estimated Time: Depending how long you like to shop, it could take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours.

Right around the corner, you’ll find the Whitney Museum of American Art.
