Get Closer to Nature

I’m a city girl, but love getting away from the hustle and bustle for a few days every now and then. One of my favorite destinations for a quick escape is the Poconos. My family has been coming to the region since we were kids, and it’s always a blast. If you’ve never been to the Poconos, here are my tips for spending the perfect weekend there! The area is full of amazing hiking and stunning lakes. You can spend a morning exploring Hickory Run State Park then have a casual lunch at one of the lovely restaurants around Lake Harmony.

Have a Little Adventure

You can find adventure sports year round, from ziplining in the Fall and Summer to skiing and snowboarding in the winter. There is even the amazing Treetop Adventure Course at Camelback Resort, an one of a kind aerial obstacle course!

Leave Room for Downtime

I always make sure to leave room for some R&R, and the Poconos is a great place to just unwind and relax. After a week of craziness in the city, the downtime was much needed. Make sure you pack a good book and bottle of wine for a lazy night in!

Treat Yourself!

If you find yourself getting off or on around the Blakeslee stop make sure you check out the amazing candy bar at Harmony Beverage and the Peppers & More BBQ Food Truck in the parking lot to load up on snacks and last minute gifts!

The best way to get to the Poconos is on the Martz Trailways bus! Its fast, comfortable, and reliable, with free wifi for you to stay connected.
